We’ve seen God move in beautiful ways when we connect with our lawmakers on a personal, relational level. With faithful engagement over time, our community has developed influential relationships with elected leaders that have led them to introduce and cosponsor legislation, attend learning events hosted by World Vision, and fight against cuts to U.S. Humanitarian Assistance. Meeting with members of Congress and their staff is the most impactful advocacy you can do!
Through one-one-coaching with your regional Grassroots Organizer, team building, webinars, virtual calls, and more, you will be well supported in your role as a World Vision Advocate. We'll even walk through talking points for each of your meetings with your Congressional offices! You will not be a name in an inbox when you join us - you will be known for the wonderful person you are!
Being a World Vision Advocate only requires a minimal time commitment, but has maximum life-impact for those we serve! Plan on about 2 hours/quarter volunteering with our team.
As a nonpartisan Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision builds relationships with all Member of Congress, no matter what party they belong to. Nearly 89% of Congress publicly claims faith in Christ. This means that even if you disagree with their political views, you can still find common ground in our shared Christian faith.
Most Advocates feel a little nervous when they start! Don’t worry, you don't need to be an expert. Our team is here to support, encourage, and coach you every step of the way. You don’t need to have all the answers - just share your heart and the stories that have moved you. You can do this, and God goes before you!
