Research conducted by World Vision in 2017 reveals the fact that in 49 per cent of the situations it is the father who decides whether a girl should go outside for work or not. Therefore, when addressing violence against women and girls including trafficking, it is important to engage with men and boys. For this purpose, Men Care groups have been formed in 90 villages. The members of these groups undergo a process of learning and un-learning to identify various gender discriminatory practices in their families and communities and the ways and means of changing them. The group also acts as a preventive tool in the community that is on the lookout for child protection issues that may arise. In the case of any problems, they inform the World Vision staff as well as make a phone complaint on the Child helpline 1098.
