Some club members and students brought Sherinah's case of abuse and bullying to the attention of the committee members. When they couldn't resolve it themselves, they brought in Esther Naluae, the staff patron who founded the Peace Road and Vision Club in 2014 after attending a World Vision training on child protection issues. When the girl didn’t give up, the teacher told her carry 8 jerry cans for water to wash the floor each day for a week. Finally Sherinah was allowed to return to the classroom, but the bullying and verbal abuse continued. The World Report on Violence Against Children considers bullying to be a pattern behavior and not an isolated event. Three crucial elements of bullying are repetition, harm, and unequal power. It can include a wide range of threats such as name calling, false accusations, threats, and intimidation.
