Ripa is a role model to Chadni. Ripa is the person who initially found Chadni working and brought her to world Vision's center. Summary: Nearly six years ago, Chadni’s father abandoned the family, leaving Beauty Begum to raise her daughter Chadni, then 10, and her 6-month-old son Omar Faruk on her own. Even when they had two incomes, there wasn’t enough money to provide for all the family’s needs, but with one income gone, Beauty struggled even more. She worked at the shrimp processing depot and had to bring her children along to that environment because there was no one to care for them. Beauty soon realized that her own income wasn’t going to be enough to support her growing children. So, she had to pull Chadni into the business and out of school. Chadni watched as her friends continued on with their education while she worked and grew angry. Then in January 2017, World Vision started the Jiboner Jannya—For a Better Life—Project designed to combat child labor. World Vision uses a multi-faceted approach. They established Child Friendly Learning and Recreation Centers (CFLRC) in communities where children involved in hazardous labor can come for a few hours a day. There they have time to play with others. They receive tutoring that helps them catch up on lessons missed. And they learn additional life skills. The goal is to get children back into school and out of their hazardous jobs. But poverty is great. Families wouldn’t send their children into the workforce if poverty didn’t drive them to do so. World Vision helps families set up businesses that help them earn more income than they would’ve received through their children’s work. Also, World Vision provides a conditional grant to parents to cover school expenses. It’s conditional because it’s dependent on the child being in school. The first goal
