Bikash and Tumpa fill up their water jugs with clean water from their pond filter, and then Bikash loads them onto the back of his bicycle so that Tumpa doesn't have to carry the heavy load home. This is one of the ways Nobo Jatra training has helped make their family happier. SUMMARY: Tumpa Devnath (mother), Bikash Devnath (father) and their 2-year-old son Arko have benefited tremendously from Nobo Jatra and World Vision Bangladesh programs in nutrition, disaster risk and response, WASH, good governance and gender. Through it all, they have also learned to love each other again. By empowering Tumpa and Bikash to be agents of change in their own community, the Nobo Jatra program is ensuring its success has long-lasting and far-reaching effects. “We are feeling so happy,” says Tumpa. “I wish everyone in society could be like us.” Photos at their home in Chandipur village in southwest Bangladesh. *** See D030-0881-STORY for more information. ***
</oembed>
