Before World Vision’s water project brought clean water close to their homes, families sometimes came to church late, dirty, and tired from carrying water, says Pastor Solomon Kapel, 25. Now they are pouring new energy and enthusiasm into their church. Solomon Kapel, 25, (gray suit jacket, tie and red shirt) has been pastor of Kesot’s Africa Gospel Church for seven years. “So many good things are happening here because of the water. I praise God for it,” he says. Yohana Komolile, 28, (in white shirt and red tie) is pastor of the Africa Gospel Church in Tipet, the church that founded the Kesot church. Pastor Yohana and about 60 members of the Tipet church walked 7 km to fellowship with the Kesot congregation and celebrate the new water system. Water is very scarce in Tipet, and many children and adults in the group had never seen water flowing from a tap.
