He is Ima's nephew. Summary: Ima Akter, 11, spends her days working at the shrimp depot, desperately trying to keep her fingers warm from all the ice by wrapping them in strips of cloth, which only mildly helps. She fears her bosses will beat her if she messes up because other girls have been beaten. She frequently cuts her fingers on a part of the fish that’s as sharp as a knife. Despite where she’s at, she longs to work in her country’s CIA equivalent. She’s had this dream since she watched a television program at her neighbor’s house where the agents caught the bad guys. As much as she wants this, she knows it’s not possible without an education. But her family thinks it would be more suitable for her to try to get a tailoring job since she’s not in school right now. They hope she’ll marry a good man and plan to marry her by age 18 or 20 if she does get some more education. She’s the fifth of six children, and three of her older siblings are married. She hopes that by going to the World Vision Child Friendly Learning and Recreation Center, she’ll be able to get access to education again and follow her dream of being an agent for good.
