She expects to earn at least Php20,000 (USD400) from the .5-hectare land they are renting. The same field was inundated last September 2018 after typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut) ravaged her community in Gattaran, Cagayan, leaving them with no harvest, a damaged house and a pile of debt. To date, World Vision has reached a total of 11,409 households, 1,714 of whom received rice or corn seeds and cash inputs for labor, while 1,521 landless farm laborers received vegetable seeds, orientation on good agricultural practices (GAP) and became part of cash-for-work intervention.
